Driving to work and back is an activity that most cannot avoid. Driving on roads today is filled with risk to self and other occupants. The risk is dormant and may sudden appear at any time from actions not necessarily carried out by the car driver. The chaotic traffic in all towns and cities in India throw in a lot of challenges not faced by drivers in developed countries. Hence, it is necessary that driver’s in India, are more careful while driving a car, lest they become entangled in a legal case. They could also end up being victims of reckless driving by other roads users. Considering these potential factors, it is imperative that the driver and passenger are fastened with seats belts. There is also the collapsible steering wheel, head restraints and emergency exit door which help protect the passenger in the event of an accident. These are some of the basic safety features offered by every manufacturer in every car model available in India. They can be used by every car occupant in India. We shall look into factors how each - seat belts, collapsible steering wheel and head restraints- offer protection to passengers. Collapsible Steering The steering wheel is a collection of various equipments, links and wheel which helps steer the vehicle in the desired direction by the driver. The steering wheel is the only interface between the car’s energy and the driver who sets it in motion. But imagine this wheel becoming a hazard in the event of a collision. The wheel could severely injure the driver’s torso often resulting in death. Thus car manufacturer devised the collapsible steering which absorbs the energy of the impact during frontal crashes. This kind of energy absorbing steering wheel first appeared in General Motors and was later adopted by Ford across all its muscle cars including Mustang. The Indian car manufacturers like Maruti Suzuki, Hyundai, Tata Motors and Mahindra & Mahindra have started installing diverse kinds of collapsible steering wheel. The collapsible steering column consists of steering wheel, steering shaft, an inner tube and column. A plastic wrapped perforated section joins the steering column in cab to the car machinery. In case of any accident, when the driver’s body comes in contact with the steering wheel, the plastic wrapped perforated section collapses. The impact of the collision is absorbed by the steering wheel rather than transferring it to the driver playing safe for the divers. Head restraintsThe head restraints or head support first appeared in Maruti cars. Head restraints are a vital for comfort of human body during accident and non-accident times. During a collision- the neck could jerk forward or backward at high speed. This could prove fatal in most circumstances. It could permanently damage neck and upper spinal chord. This is termed ‘whiplash injury’.During any kind of car accidents the most common injury is the neck injury. As known to every one, drivers body movement is coordinated with the motion of car. Whenever there is collision, the car seat accelerates the forward movement of trunk. An unsupported neck will lag behind and this difference in motion leads to bend or stretch of neck, resulting in injuries. Higher the force of collision, results higher force of neck movement. But when there is a head restraint it harmonizes with the seat motion supporting the neck.Active head restraints in Audi, a mechanical lever system in the seat back swings the headrests forward and reduce the space for movement, during a collision from the rear. During non- accident times, head restraints provide support to neck on long drivers. Before the headrests were introduced in cars sold in India, drivers’ often complained of neck and spinal chord pain leading to fatigue and injury. Headrests are great comfort while driving long distances. Right head restraint – To minimize whiplash injury, the headrest should be placed at the back of an occupant’s head, so that during the crash the head receives support. With a head restraint, the neck will be subjected to sudden movement (forward and backward) which can prove injurious. Seat beltsSeat belts play a very vital role in safety of a car. Seat belts holds occupant to their seat during a collision. Without them, occupants would be thrown off their seats and sustain grievous to fatal injuries. It improves the chances of occupant survival by 50 percent. Danger without seat belt- When a car is in motion, the body of the occupant also moves at the same speed and in the same direction. However, if the vehicle were to abruptly halt (due to collision) the body of the occupant would still be in motion at the same speed and same direction. The power of the collision pooled with the speed of the car would toss the occupants off their seats. However, if the person is fastened to a seat with belts, the occupant would remain on seat, thereby minimizing damages to body. It is mandatory by law that occupants of front seats in car wear seat belts. Some luxury cars also provide rear seat belts. Conclusion Another important safety device is the airbag. But most car owners do not opt for this equipment citing high cost of installation. But records prove that airbags protect car occupants from injuries in frontal collisions. A law is needed to bring in compliance on installation of airbag in all cars sold in India, as the country boasts one of the highest road deaths. Car passenger need to understand that safety is top on the priority list of what a car needs.

For some extreme auto lovers, finding car shows is a chore. It seems to be an event that varies by location and season. Finding a car show to attend near you does not have to be difficult. It often just requires looking in the right places. Car enthusiasts need to come together in groups to share their love for fabulous vehicles. A car lover without a show or group to meet up with is quite a lone wolf. Hobbyists need to connect with others for the love and growth of their passion. It is a vital part of enjoying your love of cars.

Pretty much every major city has an annual car show of some kind. Some cities have several, one for various types of cars or customizations. If you browse the internet using your city name, you will likely find dates of upcoming shows that have been scheduled in advance. There are even websites and blogs dedicated to keeping you up to date on the latest shows and events taking place. Knowing how to search is a key component to finding the automotive show that you want to attend. Many auto events include actual road trips, so keep this in mind as well.

The internet is the best place to find car show information. Use Google to find more sources of information than you will ever need. Joining online car clubs and auto forums where you can join in discussion with others are perfect for meeting people that know all about auto shows. Joining a message board is fantastic for learning about car shows but it is also great for learning more about cars in general and sharing what you know.

Keep an eye open for auto show listings in your local newspaper or consider checking out community bulletin boards. Smaller shows may not appear on the internet but that does not mean they are not out there. Posting bulletins is a great way to get in touch with local car lovers. Making new acquaintances or friends that you share interests with is always beneficial.

There are many groups both in real life and online that are focused on specific types of cars. Narrowing it down might make it easier to pinpoint a car show. Using keyword terms like muscle car or classic car can greatly increase the search results that you find. Learning how to make key words work for you can make all the difference when it comes to finding the car club or auto show that you want to attend.

There are several great websites that specialize in car shows and listing all of those that are upcoming. FindAutoEvents.com is just one of these great sites that list shows by city. CarShowNews.com and CarClubs.org are also highly recommended resources that are certainly worthy of checking out. These are just a few great places to catch up on auto news and show details. Some of them even have photos in case you miss out. Car shows are fun filled events for auto enthusiasts. Finding them just takes some patience and research.

Classic cars are a part of American culture, especially when you go with a domestic model that got its start in this country. These cars have withstood the test of time and continue to strut their stuff on the roadways today. You can find classics from all makes and models, but some are considered cooler than others. To find a classic car that will get noticed on the road, check out these five favorites. We also have a few shopping tips to help you find the best classic car for you.
1. The Ford Mustang
This car is cool all over, whether you opt for the convertible model or the fastback that is rapidly gaining popularity. The years to shop for in this classic car are generally 1965 and 1966, but you can also find some desirable selections in the 1995 Cobra and the 1965 GT. Cherry red with a white interior is the ideal style, but sexy black is another popular color.
2. The Chevrolet Chevelle
This muscle car is particularly popular in the 1968 Pro Street that was designed shorter and sportier. This car is all about power with a massive big-block engine and plenty of horsepower to boast about. Because this car is still in great demand, it can be easy to get a lemon if you are not careful. If you are in the market for a Chevelle, proceed with caution to ensure that you get your money's worth.
3. The Chevrolet Impala
Chevy is the car manufacturer with some of the best classic car potential, and the Impala is another example of that. The SS from 1962 is a brilliant combination of class and muscle, with the convertibles adding a sporting flair. If you go with this model, make sure you choose a car with hydraulic rams since this vehicle tends to run a little too low to the ground without them.
4. The VW Beetle
No, this car is not domestic, but the huge number of them on American roads would suggest otherwise. Did anyone else play the road trip game where you counted the number of beetles that you find on the road? Today, this model is still just as popular, with used cars getting snatched up almost as fast as the originals. The late sixty and early seventy models are in the highest demand, with the convertibles weighing in as a popular choice.
5. The Chevrolet Camaro
There are few things sexier than a Chevrolet Camaro, no matter what year model you choose. However, the designs from the late sixties are some of the most popular, with speed, handling and looks all taken into consideration. The popularity of the model has made it a bit hit or miss in the resale arena, so proceed with caution if you are in the market for one of these.
Classic cars are a fun way to drive with vintage style, and many of these models are still hot on the market today. Check out the resales in your area to find the classic car of your dreams.

It's anyone's guess really as to which vehicles of today will become the classics of tomorrow. However, there are many factors that make it easy to make predictions. Many of the modern day cars currently on the road will not end up anywhere down the line but in the junkyard. But a handful of them will end up classics that are worth plenty when they are several decades old. If you're not sure if your car will be a classic, there are a few sources you can check to see what the pros think.
There is no way of knowing for certain which cars will turn out to be classics. A variety of factors play a role in determining this. The CEO of a large insurance company known as Hagerty's Insurance has put together his own list of vehicles he thinks may be classics. The Hagerty list may not match anyone else's but it is based on observations made inside the insurance industry.
There are a number of cars on the Hagerty list but some of them clearly stand out more than others. Some of these cars include the Cadillac XLR-V Roadster as well as Audi S5. Some people might be shocked to find that the Smart car is on this list as possible classics as well. It may not seem like the type to be a classic but some people said that about the Beetle once. The modern day Dodge Charger Super Bee also makes the list of future classics which is only fitting considering its predecessor models.
The classic car predictions tend to vary in places like the United Kingdom when compared to the United States. Their list includes such cars as the Volkswagen Corrado as well as many others that are not common in the U.S. and may be rather unheard of to most people.
In the past few years a few large car manufacturers have re-launched some of their beloved models of the past with a new look for the modern day. Muscle cars are leading the way in this area. From Mustangs to the new Camaros and Chargers, this classic car type is coming back from the past to set the standard for the future. These are ones to watch for sure, especially limited higher end models.
Like the muscle cars, there are other cars from the past that have been redone for the modern day. The Volkswagen Beetle and the Mini Cooper are timeless classics that are also available now. These new models may very well carry on the classic status from the past.
Of course, it's important to remember that even professionals can't always predict what will happen in the future. It's wise not to try to purchase a certain car only because you think it will be a classic. You should buy the car that you like because if it's only based on money you stand to lose a lot down the line. And of course remember that having a classic car has a lot to do with how you treat and maintain it.

Arizona is the home for classic cars, with the nice dry weather and many retirees living in the state. Many classic car and muscle car owners are older men, the baby boomers that fueled the muscle car craze in the late 1960's and early 1970's. They want their old cars that they once drove (and raced), now that they are retired and can maybe spend the extra money and time they need for them. Finding the right auto insurance for your classic car in AZ should not be difficult, as long as you know a few basics of the law and standards in classic car insurance.
A few requirements will be needed to be qualified for classic car insurance in Arizona. First off, a garage will be required for your classic car. I'm sure this won't be a problem for most, since that blistering summer sun can do some damage to any paint job if left out long enough. If your car is being restored or not in great condition from the start, you may be able to get away with having a canopy or other type of shelter. Make sure you explain to the insuring company the exceptions, and they may be able to work with you. As I will show later, contacting a specialty collector car insurance company may give you more relaxed policies depending on your specific needs. Typical auto insurance companies used for daily driving vehicles may not work with your exceptions as well as specialty car insurers.
The next requirement is having a driver's license for at least 10 years, and it must be a fairly clean driving record. The decision about the driving record will be made by the individual insurance company, so you may need to shop around if your record is not that great. Furthermore, you will need a daily driving vehicle. NO insurance company will insure your classic car if you do not have another vehicle to use for your daily commuting. The daily driving vehicle does not have to be insured by the same company, but having the car is a requirement. Nearly all insurance companies put a mileage restriction per year on miles driven on the classic car, usually 2,500 to 5,000 miles. The more miles allowed, the higher the premium.
Most car insurers will classify the term "classic car" to mean anything older than 15 years, and sometimes 20 depending on the insurance company standards, so keep that in consideration when shopping around. For most situations, you should choose the 'Agreed "Value" policy. You and the insurance company will determine a full replacement amount on the vehicle, and you will be covered to that amount always. The other policy sometimes offered is the "stated Value". You do not want this one, since the depreciation value will be taken off the value of the vehicle.
The biggest tip that can be offered is to compare specialty collector car insurance providers. You could end up finding cheaper rates, better coverage, and the process could be a lot simpler than going through a typical auto insurance company. Specialty car insurance companies only deal with specialty and classic cars, so they know how to properly value a car, and can guide you through the process easily. Not only will you have less headaches, but you will be able to properly value your car.

Classic cars for sale are big business these days. There is no shortage of unscrupulous people who will take your money and vanish!
To be a knowledgeable buyer, the biggest chunk of your time will be spent in what I call the homework or prep stage. Probably 70 percent of your time will be spent studying classic car sale information, researching, and consulting with trusted friends or experts as to the authenticity and details of the car. After you have done your homework, the rest is a simple buying transaction. The more prepared a buyer, the smoother and faster the transaction.
What this means is you will need to invest the necessary time and money to thoroughly research what you are buying. It is all about the preparation. The one thing that rings true is either you are going to spend the time or money to investigate your potential purchase or you hire an expert to handle the transaction for start to finish.
Three Tips to Prevent Classic Car Scams
1. Know What You Want to Purchase
The top details for clarity are knowing what you are looking for, how much you have to spend, and how far you are willing to travel. Buying a vintage classic or muscle car is an exercise in search and process of elimination. Think of yourself as a modern day Sherlock Holmes. There is no use in looking at a show car if you can realistically only afford a project car or a weekend cruiser.
Because the internet has made our world smaller, do not waste a buyer's time if they live halfway across the country and you are only willing to buy locally.
Check the NADA price guide so you have a ballpark of what the car will cost depending on condition. If the deal is too good to be true, (Are you really going to buy a 1969 Camaro in great condition for $5000?) then it could be scam. If you contact the seller and they insist on wiring a deposit, then you will know for sure it is a scam. Guaranteed you will never see the cash again!
2. Research Your Vehicle
Buying a classic car has become serious business. Classic cars for sale are now selling for what I paid for my first house. Would you buy a house with out having a house inspection? Probably not. The same goes with buying a muscle car for sale. Do your research. Get as much information as you can about the make, model, and year, and options of the car. The more educated you are about the car, the better you can negotiate if needed. And it also indicates to the seller that you know what you are talking about.
The internet makes it easy to do research. Join a forum that is focused on the type of car you are looking to buy. I know serious car collectors who will not buy a car unless they bring in an expert or guru to look at it first. If it is good enough for them, it is probably an idea you may want to consider. There nothing wrong about not knowing everything about a car. You definitely want to avoid paying for what looks like a highly desirable car only to find out that it is a clone.
Many people have saved themselves thousands and even hundreds of thousands of dollars just by paying an expert to inspect and document a car. If the car is extremely desirable and rare, the old adage of you can pay me now, or you can pay me later applies. Either hire an expert, or talk with someone you trust who can help you look at the car. Online car forums and clubs are great resources for this type of information.
3) Make Sure All Your Questions Get Answered
Do not be afraid to ask questions. Having clarity gives you the confidence to make a buying decision. This serves many purposes. Before you physically look at the car, contact the seller and ask the important questions.
Here are a number of key questions to ask the seller even if the details are not mentioned in the ad (This can double check the seller's credibility that they really do know the details about their car). I find asking questions in categories is useful in organizing the information.
Engine, Drive Train, Options
* What is original to the car? (Engine, transmission, differential)
* Drive train specs (hp, engine size, rear axle ratio, transmission type)
* Options - A/C PS, PB, Vinyl roof, trim packages
* How does it run?
Body and Interior
* Interior color and condition?
* Body panels original, any accidents, frame damage, paint and body panel condition?
* Currently inspected and roadworthy or project restoration car?
* Mileage and any known mechanical problems?
Title and Price
* Does the car have a "clean" title?
* What is the asking price or at least a ballpark figure
How does it look?
* Can you get detailed digital pictures? If so, get A LOT so you can see every detail.
* Send to experts or post on a forum for opinions. The seller may think the car is all original, but may not know. An expert can spot the obvious.
Logistics
* Will they allow you to bring in an expert, or independent third party to
inspect and verify the car (If not, RUN from the deal. Do not walk)?
* Is there a place locally where you could arrange to put the car up on
a lift and do a visual and physical inspection?
This may sound like a lot of work, but it is fundamental for a solid transaction where you get exactly what you want.
The best piece of advice I can offer is to remember you are in control of the
transaction. If there is something that does not feel right about the car or the seller or anything related to the transaction, let it go. This includes being pressured by a seller to make a quick decision. If a deal is going to work, it needs to be natural and a win-win situation for both parties. There is normally something fishy going on, if a seller starts to hard close a deal. There is no use in trying to force a deal to work from either party.

Hot-rodding is a popular American culture. The phenomenon was first covered by magazines. Glossy print names such as The Rodders Journal, Hot Rod Magazine, Street Rodder, Popular Hot Rodding, and Rod and Custom Magazine are just a few of the magazines that feature this staple activity in the American life.
In addition to print, hot-rodding likewise gained mileage in the visual wing of the media. Discovery Channel featured a lot of hot-rod documentaries such as Monster Garage, American Hot Rod, and Overhauling. And television shows such as My Classic Car and Horsepower TV also had dedicated episodes on topics about hot-rodding.
Tom Wolfe wrote about it in his book "The Kandy-Kolored Tangerine-Flake Streamline Baby." Even the Beach Boys sang about it in "My Little Deuce Coupe."
Hot-rodding mostly began in the 1930's in Southern California where people started modifying light cars with big engines and started racing them on the vast and empty lake beds northeast of Los Angeles. The original hot rods were old cars that were reduced to weigh less and improve aerodynamics. After World War II, many small airports were abandoned in the country. In effect, these venues allowed hot rodders to race on marked courses. World War II also helped the hobby's popularity especially in California where a lot of returning soldiers had been given technical training in the service to modify such cars.
At the heart of it all, the 1932 Ford Roadster was the car that every hot-rodder wanted. It was the car that changed the automobile industry forever. It was simple, lean and it had a coveted handsome body. It also had a very affordable engine, the V8, which rewarded the 1932 Ford Roadster with the reputation as the perfect car for a nation that was obsessed with speed.
But then just like like everything else, hot-rodding's popularity started to wane. Car shows and drag racing divided the hot-rodding community. Then Detroit released muscle cars like the Plymouth Roadrunner and the Pontiac GTO. With these muscle cars, there was longer any need to put a Cadillac engine in a Ford Roadster. The Pontiac GTO could outperform any hot rod and it offered more passenger space. There was no longer any need to spend time to build and tune the car by oneself. The muscle cars had it all.
But today, the hot rod culture lives on. And in January 2007, hod rod culture even celebrated its 75th anniversary by releasing The 75 Most Influential "1932 Ford Hot Rods". The list was commissioned by Ford where a panel of hot rod experts reviewed some four hundred seventy-four worthy cars and whittle it down to seventy-five cars.
So if you are interested to be part of the hot rod culture, I advise you to first try renting the car in one of Las Vegas car rentals. By renting it you would have a sample of experiencing the car, not just in some nostalgic showroom, but on the gravel itself. If you don't like it, you won't have any regrets because you can return it after renting. But if you like it (which I'm pretty much sure you will), then well and good.
Come visit the websites of these exotic car rentals in Las Vegas. These websites already offer car models, prices, rental polices, special offers and reservations. Live out and be a part of the American Way in an exotic rental such as the 1932 Ford Roadster. This is the American Way as you know it, discover it first hand here in Las Vegas.

Classic cars can be found in classic car auctions from companies such as Ford Motor Company and Muscle Car Auctions. Here, one may find historic mustangs, Corvettes, Camaros, GTO and others in good condition. The attitude during these car auctions is that although today’s automakers have come around recently with some classic style vehicles, they cannot match up to the original models. This is basically the reason that classic car auctions have gained popularity over the years.

The muscle cars of America generally started their rapid growth during the Second World War after introducing Chrysler 300 Letter Series in the mid 50s. The muscle car’s popularity continued its growth in the 60s, marking a trend toward the factory’s performance, thus reflecting the youth market’s importance. Power escalation in the 70s brought about fierce competition and the market for these cars unfortunately fizzled out due to environmental, economic and political forces and the available models are prized collectables at Muscle Car Auctions.

Auction Companies make use of the automotive auction events to aid in Charity fundraising as was the case with Barrett Jackson Auction Company where it raised 4.4 million dollars during the 38th Scottsdale annual auction on 11th to 18th of January 2009. The funds gathered during this auction were engineered by selling fifteen collector vehicles as well as from fund raisers and crowd donations. The biggest catch in the auction of classic vehicles when dealing with the Barrett-Jackson Auction Company is that no commissions are collected on vehicles sold for charity sake. In only three events, seven million dollars was made in 2008 by the same company and some of the incredible vehicles responsible were a wild tribute Superbird and a newly produced 2010 Camaro.

In Scottsdale, Ariz, there is a Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction that is one of the favorite spots for buying antique classic vehicles. The Hurst/ Viper Coup broke the record in 2009 during its 50th anniversary during a Barrett-Jackson Collector Car Auction in Blair, Nebraska on January 26th 2009. This classic vehicle sold for 250,000 dollars to break the record. This highly-collectible vehicle was built by the Auto family of Woodhouse in conjunction with the Hurst Performance Vehicle Group. The Serial #01 Hurst/Viper were only built 50 of them features a pistol-grip shifter, massive black Hurst chrome wheels, a Corsa exhaust and a coil-over adjustable suspension. The Golden Anniversary was honored by finishing the vehicle in stunning paint of satin-gold with glossy black stripes. The features of the interior include floor mats customized with a Hurst logo and special charcoal leather with embroidered Hurst logos.

In Atlanta, Georgia, one can find a classic car auction brought about by simply taking a Chevy Tahoe’s hood and getting baseball’s biggest names to sign it, having numerous players sign it in the major parks of Baseball as well members of the Baseball Hall of Fame. This creates quite a unique baseball memorabilia and the last Chevy Tahoe that was uniquely baseball-themed fetched a 100,000 dollar final bid.
